Both systems provide durable protection for technical insulation, but they are designed for different installation requirements.

Comparison ISOLPAK ALU ISOLPAK CLAD
Product concept Robust, mechanically secured jacketing system. Flexible, self-adhesive jacketing solution.
Installation Formed around the insulation and mechanically fastened. Applied directly to a properly prepared surface.
Mechanical protection High rigidity and mechanical durability. Flexible protection for moderately exposed areas.
Complex shapes Best suited to regular surfaces and prefabricated components. Ideal for elbows, valves, fittings, seams and penetrations.
Outdoor use Designed for durable outdoor jacketing and exposed installations. Suitable for outdoor applications as part of an approved system.
Installation speed Requires measuring, forming and mechanical fastening. Fast installation due to its self-adhesive construction.
Best suited for Pipes, tanks, vessels, large diameters and exposed surfaces. Connections, transitions and geometrically complex areas.

Quick recommendation: Choose ALU for mechanical strength and larger surfaces. Choose CLAD for fast installation and complex details. Both products can also be combined within one insulation system.

Which solution should you choose?

Choose ISOLPAK ALU when mechanical strength, rigid jacketing and durable protection of larger surfaces are the main priorities.

Choose ISOLPAK CLAD when fast self-adhesive installation, flexibility and processing around complex details are required.

Combine both systems when ALU protects the main surfaces and CLAD is used for joints, transitions, penetrations or difficult geometries.

Technical performance & documentation

Fire performance

ISOLPAK ALU

EN 13501-1: Euroclass B(L)-s2,d0, tested on mineral wool pipe insulation.

ASTM E84: Class A / Class 1, with a Flame Spread Index of 10 and a Smoke Developed Index of 50.

BS 476 Parts 6 & 7: Class 0.

ISOLPAK CLAD

EN 13501-1: Euroclass B-s1,d0, based on available reference testing of a corresponding multilayer laminate construction.

Fire classifications apply to the tested product version, substrate and complete system construction. The relevant test report and complete build-up must be verified before specification.
